How about making recoll also accept skippedNames in an archive, for example, a zip file.

You mean, something like zipSkippedNames :)

I don't think that this has seen a lot of testing, so I'll be interested by your feedback if you encounter issues.

Alright, so I will test it. I am sorry for not having seen it. I think it would also make sense to make zipSkippedNames default to skippedNames

I have added a variable to decide if skippedNames should be use inside zip archives (default: no, to avoid surprises). See: https://www.lesbonscomptes.com/recoll/faqsandhowtos/FilteringOutZipArchiveMembers.html

To use this with an older version, you need to copy files from the git tree to /usr/share/recoll/filters:

python/recoll/recoll/conftree.py python/recoll/recoll/rclconfig.py filters/rclzip
