Especially for historic metricproviders and transient metric providers which depend on historic data, restarting the platform on an existing database can give rather unexpected results. We are writing the current metrics all under the assumption that the future is not stored in the database yet. If this assumption can not be made, the metrics need to do expensive and metric specific filtering.

Could we let the platform clear out history in case we start analyzing from scratch again? We might always remove all data future of the date that is being analyzed?
