impress.js

Taking a look at impress.js for animation/transitions etc.

Some items for consideration:

Cross Browser compatability

In taking a brief look at impress it seems it is best implemented in webkit based browsers, this will not be an issue in phonegap for iOS and Android apps as both systems use webkit to render web views, however in later deployment to the site there will be no control over which browser an individual user may view the content with, consideration may need to be given to graceful degradation

Performance

It may also be worth testing accross several devices and browsers to ensure impress has no impact on performance.

After looking at impress, I believe this more suitable as a presentation app rather than an animation platform for development. It is essentially a replacement for powerpoint. Might work well on the site, but again cross browser compatibility might be an issue.

    Some thoughts:

    Design:

    • straying to far from design convention for mobile apps may be a bad idea.
    • make good use of images/graphics
    • minimal/tasteful use of animation
