hi
i'm using recoll since years on lxde environments and now tried to come back to it on kde, since the baloo search possibilities did not satisfy.
but:
with recoll 1.23.1 + xapian 1.4.4 on linux opensuse kde
recollindex hangs on a faulty files. no further reindexing!
erroneous files must be skipped and should be marked as such in the database in order to display them as a list of broken files (would help to clean them).
thanks a lot
ps:
it's brave to use the osp platfrom. sustainable?

2017-09-01The failed files are indeed marked in the db, but there is currently no easy way to retrieve a list, unfortunately. There is a convoluted way to do it though, but this needs the xadump program which is not in the default package, so you'd have to build from source.
I am adding a "list failed files" function to the TODO.
You can add a -K option to the recollindex command line to avoid retrying files on which the indexer previously failed.
What kind of file are these ?
About opensourceprojects.eu: I wanted European hosting and there is not a lot of choice. I'll agree that it's less polished than github, but it works !

2017-10-14There is not much which can be done apart from listing the failed files.
By the way the retry decisions are described here: http://www.lesbonscomptes.com/recoll/usermanual/webhelp/docs/ch02s01s04.html
