I am encountering a gui problem involving recoll where clicking on the recoll icon in the top panel on the (Ubuntu Mate 16.04) desktop will spawn a new instance of recoll with its associated icon every time. Even when I close all the recoll windows themselves, the icons on the panel persist. Moreover, these additional instances of recoll seem to be independently indexing my hard drive since they all produce their own 'indexing complete' notifications. In the attached screenshot, I have shown only two icons but during repeated usage, my top panel ends up being flooded with recoll icons. It may be of interest that only the left-most panel icon will produce a new recoll window for queries. The remaining icons, when clicked, only give me the option of Restore or Quit (see attached screenshot)
