Related to Github issue #21.

When using the Openhome ohPlayer I noticed that a halt flag is set when playback is paused or stopped and unset if not. In case of a stop, two or three empty messages are received after the audio message containing the halt flag.

I would like to use this to information in the ALSA audio backend to open/close the ALSA device depending on the state. This way, the ALSA device is only used if playback does actually happens.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for having a look! I thought, the Windows Songcast application uses the ohSongcast repo. At least the repo shows some search results for "halt".

I will try to understand when the flag is set. For now I know that invoking the "Play", "Pause", or "Stop" action of the Playlist service of the Songcast sender provokes the flag.

So, I'm using the week trying to understand to demystify the oh libs :-)

Did you noticed the "Scd" (Songcast direct) source that was added recently to the ohPipeline repo?
